Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Standup Fighter (ranked 2199 p4p, 201 weight class) and Jake Jones (ranked 4224 p4p, 358 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Standup Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Jones!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter fails to land the takedown.
Fighter bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jones lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jones throws a series of punches but Fighter avoids them all with ease.
Jones lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Fighter backs up against the cage.
Jones's coach down at Captain America MMA/BJJ Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jones's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Jones connects with a body shot.
Fighter bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Jones catches Fighter napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Fighter to the canvas!


Fighter is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones is working Fighter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Oh Fighter is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fighter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fighter looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Fighter has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle.

Fighter looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jones passes into half guard.

Fighter seems to have got his legs back now.

Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fighter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fighter trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Fighter wants to control but Jones is having none of it.
Poor strikes thrown by Jones there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Fighter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fighter is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fighter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones avoids the attempt from Fighter to control.
Fighter avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jones.
Fighter gets back to half guard.
Fighter blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jones.
Fighter wants to get back to full guard.
Jones thows a huge punch but Fighter dodges it nicely.
Fighter slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Jones lands a couple of digs.

Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jones postures up in Fighter's guard and throws a big left but Fighter blocks it.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Fighter lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fighter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Fighter distracts Jones with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Fighter works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard.


It looks like Jake Jones has been cut.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fighter landing some decent shots from guard.
Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Fighter scoring with punches to the head and body.
Fighter with a flurry of punches that miss.
Fighter controls from within his opponent's guard.
Jones preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Fighter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Jones dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jake Jones's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jones tests Fighter's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Fighter. Fighter gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Fighter has his takedown stuffed
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Fighter.
Fighter tries to counter with a takedown but Jones is quick to defend against it.
Fighter looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Standup Fighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fighter gets slowly back to his feet.

Jones moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Fighter goes down! Can Jones finish him!?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fighter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones has hold of Fighter's hands but Fighter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Fighter winds up and cracks Jones with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Fighter uses his free foot to push down on Jones's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jones.
Jones is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That has opened up Jake Jones's cut even more.

Fighter looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Jones is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Fighter lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Jake Jones's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jake Jones's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Standup Fighter!
