Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Randy Tessin (ranked 3453 p4p, 367 weight class) and Matty Bergs (ranked 4303 p4p, 427 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Tessin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matty Bergs! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bergs slips under a jab from Tessin. Bergs tries to bum rush Tessin with a series of wild strikes but Tessin uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bergs misses with a kick to the body.
Bergs jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bergs blocks a jab. Bergs lands a nice looking body shot.
Tessin throws a jab but it's blocked by Bergs. Bergs lands with an overhand left. Bergs stuffs the takedown attempt from Tessin. Tessin gets slowly back to his feet. Bergs lands the left hand.
It looks like Randy Tessin has been cut. Tessin misses with a left hand and Bergs counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bergs looks to land a combination but Tessin avoids it well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bergs connects with a nice looking jab.
Tessin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Tessin defending well as Bergs loads up on a big left hand. Bergs uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tessin. No joy there for Bergs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bergs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bergs rushes Tessin and presses him up against the cage. Tessin tries to score a body lock takedown but Bergs shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Bergs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tessin seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Bergs on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Bergs scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Tessin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bergs swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Tessin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tessin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bergs tries to avoid it but Tessin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bergs to the ground. Bergs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tessin misses with a hook
and Tessin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Tessin misses with a hook. Bergs ducked under it nicely. Nice defenses there by Bergs. Bergs is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Tessin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Tessin throws a good cross that connects.
A cross from Bergs lands. Bergs keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tessin. Bergs goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tessin shoots for a takedown but Bergs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bergs scores with a one two! Tessin had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Tessin swats away the attempt to clinch by Bergs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bergs wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. A big left from Bergs misses. A big left from Tessin misses. Bergs is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Tessin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tessin showed some decent athleticism there. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bergs looks like he's trying to stand up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tessin is looking for a kimura but Bergs is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tessin to get the leverage. Bergs is looking to control Tessin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bergs avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tessin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bergs does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Tessin seems to be working for a kimura but Bergs defends the submission attempt. Tessin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Tessin wants to work for an arm triangle but Bergs is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tessin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Tessin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bergs doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tessin. Tessin seems to be working for a kimura but Bergs defends the submission attempt. Tessin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bergs has managed to free his arm - good work. Tessin is trying to work for a kimura but Bergs is defending well.

Matty Bergs dominated that round. The cut man is working on Randy Tessin's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bergs thows a left - swing and a miss! Bergs lands a nice hook to Tessin's body. Tessin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Bergs connects with a body shot. Tessin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Tessin throws out a loose jab but Bergs uses good head movement to avoid it. Matty Bergs seems to be getting the better of the standup. Tessin with a hook. A slow jab from Tessin misses its intended target. Bergs misses with a wild combination.
Bergs scores with a hook to the body. Tessin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Bergs avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Tessin misses with a straight right. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big right from Tessin misses. Bergs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bergs throws a right and a left that Tessin avoids nicely. Bergs ducks under a wild hook from Tessin. Bergs let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Bergs with a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! A slow jab from Tessin misses its intended target.

Bergs is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Bergs stuffs the takedown attempt from Tessin. Tessin gets slowly back to his feet. Nice cross by Bergs. Bergs on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Tessin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Tessin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bergs is looking for a sweep. Tessin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tessin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Tessin seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bergs is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
