Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Cat both land. Nice combination.
Cat shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Cat looking to control but Salvato is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Salvato tries to hold on but Cat pushes him away.
Cat landing strikes from the mount.
Cat trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Salvato's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Cat moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Salvato has worked his arm free - good work by Salvato!
Cat sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Salvato is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cat is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Salvato knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Salvato manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cat's best efforts.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Cat counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Salvato counters by moving into the clinch.

Salvato jumps into guard, dragging Cat to the mat.
Cat stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Salvato swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Derrick Salvato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cat closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cat lands in his opponent's guard.

Cat can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Salvato is looking to escape.

Salvato is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cat is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cat has escaped and now he's on top!
Salvato had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cat is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Salvato Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cat's back instead.
Cat turns into Salvato and is now in his guard.
Cat is looking to advance position but Salvato has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Cat tries to improve his position but instead Salvato has taken his back!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cat trying to control the action but Salvato just sinks the hooks in.
Salvato is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Cat is defending well though. Salvato let's go of the attempt for now.
I really don't envy Cat right now.
Salvato is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Cat is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cat is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Cat is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Salvato gets his way!

Salvato seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cat does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
