Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danny Greene! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chief Bear! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bear has a takedown stuffed. Bear shoots in but no luck this time. Greene getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Bear fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Greene avoids it really well and circles away. Danny Greene has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chief Bear. Greene uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bear has time to react. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bear. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bear takes a jab right on the kisser.
Bear takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Greene lands a nice shot that snaps Bear's head back.
Greene lands a lovely overhand right.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bear shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Greene pinned against the cage. Greene gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Greene has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ELITE Island Gym - 19 Elite Coaches in the buildup to the fight. Good standup being displayed there by Greene as he connects with a hook. Greene scores with a sloppy right hand. Bear should have avoided that one. Greene scores with a sloppy right hand. Bear should have avoided that one. Bear with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Greene to score with a decent uppercut. Bear on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Greene tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bear was well out of range. Poor timing from Greene. Bear steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Greene. Bear tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Greene defends well and Bear ends up having to push Greene into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Greene punishes Bear's body with a nice straight punch. Bear bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Greene scores with a shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Greene leaves Bear with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Greene throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Greene cracks Bear with a good jab. Bear shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Greene defends it nicely. Greene scores with the left hand. Bear knows he should have avoided that one. Bear takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Greene dips to his left and cracks Bear with an uppercut! Bear goes for a double leg but Greene avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Greene continues to drive forward. Greene scores with a jab to the head.
Nice uppercut there from Greene.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bear fails with the takedown and Greene cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bear is rocked! Bear looks winded! Greene slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Bear is still on wobbly legs! Can Greene finish him? Greene fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Bear square on the jaw! Damn, Bear is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
