The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gunn's guard. Perry avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gunn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Perry throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Perry wants to control from the top but Gunn keeps moving. Perry with a flurry of punches that miss. Perry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gunn works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perry is looking to work some ground and pound but Gunn has wrist control. Perry wants to control from the top but Gunn keeps moving. Gunn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gunn misses with a takedown attempt - Perry sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Perry misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perry takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Perry shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gunn counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Perry! Perry looks gassed! Gunn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Perry is looking to escape. Gunn content just to control the position here. Perry really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Gunn feints and as Perry raises his hands in defense, Gunn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Gunn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Perry manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Perry misses with a takedown and Gunn counters with a takedown into side control. Perry is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gunn off and has taken his back! Gunn manages to reverse the position and now he's in Perry's guard. Nice work there by Gunn.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gunn drives through with a takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gunn trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perry lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Perry connects with a couple of short punches. Perry is looking to work some ground and pound but Gunn has wrist control. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gunn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gunn working away. Perry is not content to let Gunn control the position. Perry takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Perry misses with a takedown attempt and Gunn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Gunn tries to clinch up. Gunn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Perry but Perry pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Gunn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gunn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gunn trying to control the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tommy Gunn will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Perry will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Not this time though. Gunn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Gunn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Perry does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Perry can do anything to dispel that myth. Gunn trying to control the action but Perry is working from the bottom. Perry makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Perry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gunn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tommy Gunn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Perry trying to keep a closed guard but Gunn is proving a slippery customer.
Perry is working an open guard so Gunn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. John Perry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gunn doesn't manage to clinch there - Perry circles away.
