Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Polliisi Partio (ranked 970 p4p, 122 weight class) and Don Petersen (ranked 633 p4p, 82 weight class). Polliisi Partio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Polliisi Partio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Don Petersen!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Partio slips a jab from Petersen.
Petersen has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Partio is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Partio cracks Petersen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
A telegraphed right hand from Petersen misses the target.
Partio lands with a shot to the body.
Petersen misses with an uppercut.
Partio moves forwards but Petersen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Petersen throws out a loose jab but Partio uses good head movement to avoid it.
Partio throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Partio sizes up Petersen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
We've been told by Partio's head coaches at Gangsterdamage that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Petersen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Partio to the mat! Partio manages to get full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Partio wriggles free and stands up.
Partio throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Petersen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Partio manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Petersen throws a jab but it's blocked by Partio.

Petersen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Partio is trying to stand up here but Petersen is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Petersen trying to control from half guard but Partio is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petersen is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Petersen is working for a kimura but Partio is defending it quite comfortably.

Petersen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Partio is trying to stand.
Petersen looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Partio wants to get back to his feet.
Petersen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Partio does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Petersen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Partio's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Petersen is pressing down on Partio's thigh, looking to free his foot. Partio is holding on for now.
Partio pushes Petersen off looking to stand but Petersen dives back in and keeps control.
Petersen trying to control the action but Partio is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Petersen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Partio scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Petersen throws a jab when Partio was well out of range.

Partio gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Petersen to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Petersen prevents Partio from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Petersen tries to free his leg and advance position but Partio is retaining full guard.

Partio has his feet on Petersen's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Petersen throws a poor cross that misses
and Partio counters with a straight right hand.
Petersen misses with a hook. Partio ducked under it nicely.
An attempted straight right counter from Partio misses the target.
Partio throws a leg kick which misses Petersen's front leg but catches the back leg as Petersen tries to avoid it.
Partio uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Petersen has time to react.
Petersen takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Partio lands with a cross.


Petersen is rocked!
Partio throws an overhand right that lands on Petersen's shoulder, as Petersen tries to avoid the shot.
The fighters circling - Petersen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Partio throws a right and a left that Petersen avoids nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Partio swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Partio throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Petersen on the side of the head.
Partio looks to land a combination but Petersen avoids it well.
Polliisi Partio is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Petersen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Petersen loads up on a big right hand but Partio slips the punch.
Petersen scores with a jab to the jaw.
Decent striking displayed by Petersen there.
Partio swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And Petersen tries to counter it with a takedown but Partio pushes his down on his head and steps out.
A combination from Partio does no damage.
Partio throws a hook but Petersen avoids it easily.
Petersen tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Petersen has a takedown stuffed.
A telegraphed right hand from Partio misses the target.
Partio takes one to the side of the head.
Partio throws a right and a left that both miss.
A little jabbing left from Petersen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
A slow jab from Petersen misses its intended target.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Partio lands with an uppercut that bounces Petersen off the cage and back into range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Polliisi Partio dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Petersen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A little feinted left hand from Partio on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Partio clobbers Petersen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Petersen is still on wobbly legs! Can Partio finish him?
Partio throws an overhand right that has Petersen reeling! Partio follows up with more punches and Petersen is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Polliisi Partio!
Polliisi Partio spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
