0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jacob Bell! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chorr gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bell tries to free his leg and advance position but Chorr is retaining full guard. Bell trying to control the position from guard on top but Chorr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chorr is keeping the position for now. Bell pushing down on Chorr's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Bell is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Chorr has managed to free his arm - good work. Bell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Chorr! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jacob Bell dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Bell throws a front kick aimed at Chorr's knee but Chorr avoids it well. Both fighters circling a little - Chorr finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Chorr tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bell defends well and Chorr ends up having to push Bell into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Assan Karim Chorr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Chorr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bell circles away quickly and effectively. Chorr goes for a double leg but Bell avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bell continues to drive forward. Chorr chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bell can pounce on him.
Chorr gets a clinch. Bell turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Bell working the strikes but Chorr uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Chorr keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bell prevents Chorr from improving his position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bell controlling the pace. Bell prevents Chorr from improving his position. Bell is keen to just control but Chorr is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chorr wants to get back to his feet. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bell lands a nice short elbow. Bell works his foot free and advances to mount. Bell jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Chorr is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Chorr and Bell has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Chorr is trying to control Bell's posture but Bell avoids it. Chorr keeps Bell under control for a moment. Bell tries to advance to mount but can't. Bell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chorr has escaped the position, nice work there. Bell is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chorr, who protects the arm well. Bell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Chorr knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bell sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Chorr is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Chorr tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chorr is trying to control Bell's posture but Bell avoids it. Bell working the ground and pound but Chorr is defending the strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bell is trying to get an arm triangle but Chorr is defending well. Chorr wants to control from the top but Bell keeps moving. Chorr is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bell is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Chorr tries to stand but Bell is controlling from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chorr stopping the sweep attempt from Bell. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Chorr is looking to stand up but Bell isn't so interested in that idea. Bell has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Chorr is trying to control the position but Bell postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bell passes into half guard. Bell is trying to control the action in half guard but Chorr is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bell is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chorr defends it well. Bell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bell is thwarting Chorr's attempts to control the position. Chorr tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Chorr is looking to improve his position.
Bell is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chorr sees it coming and defends easily. Bell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Chorr knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chorr is in trouble now - Bell has advanced to mount! Chorr tries to reverse the position but Bell maintains control. Bell wants to finish this one by submission but Chorr is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bell. Bell wants to take his opponent's back but Chorr doesn't allow it. Bell lands a heavy elbow. Bell is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Chorr to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Chorr shrugs it off. Chorr is looking to get to half guard. Bell throwing strikes here but Chorr is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
