Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adnan Vulicevic (ranked 8498 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francisco Marquez (ranked 4357 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Adnan Vulicevic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Francisco Marquez! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marquez leaves Vulicevic with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Marquez slaps away a takedown attempt from Vulicevic, before circling back to the center of the mat. Marquez appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Marquez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marquez wants it to stay on the feet. As Vulicevic backs off Marquez throws a huge counter combo but Vulicevic manages to avoid it all. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adnan Vulicevic. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marquez tries a head kick but it misses.
Vulicevic wants to clinch. Marquez lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Vulicevic fails with the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marquez forces Vulicevic back against the cage and clinches. Marquez blocks an elbow strike from Vulicevic.
Vulicevic is looking to control Marquez's arms but Marquez gets an underhook and turns him. Now Vulicevic has his back to the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vulicevic being controlled against the cage. Vulicevic wants to break the clinch but can't.
Marquez tries to circle away but Vulicevic has him pinned against the cage. Marquez wants to break free but Vulicevic has control.
Marquez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Vulicevic not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Marquez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Vulicevic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marquez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Marquez seems keen to control Vulicevic's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Marquez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Marquez drops back looking for a leg! Vulicevic is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vulicevic manages to kick Marquez off! Marquez jumps back into Vulicevic's guard. Vulicevic looking to control.
Marquez sitting in guard, not really doing much. Marquez is pushing down on Vulicevic's leg trying to pass to half guard. Vulicevic is fighting to maintain full guard but Marquez has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marquez trying to control from half guard but Vulicevic is working away. Marquez controlling the pace. Vulicevic keeping control of the position. Marquez trying to pass the guard but Vulicevic defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vulicevic is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Marquez is figuring out what he wants to do next. Marquez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Vulicevic is trying to get back to full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Marquez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Francisco Marquez dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Marquez swats away the attempt to clinch by Vulicevic. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Marquez is defended easily by Vulicevic. Vulicevic is looking to clinch but Marquez is avoiding it.
Vulicevic dives in for a single leg takedown but Marquez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Marquez rushes Vulicevic and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Vulicevic is looking for a takedown. Marquez wants to break free but Vulicevic has control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Vulicevic wants to sweep but Marquez has passed to side control! Marquez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Vulicevic's shoulder. That is not cool. Vulicevic tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marquez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The referee asks Marquez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Marquez prefers to stall for the moment though. Marquez trying to control the position but Vulicevic is working away. Marquez wants to stand but Vulicevic is controlling his arm. Marquez throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vulicevic is being controlled here. Vulicevic tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Marquez looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Vulicevic swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Marquez misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Marquez landing strikes from the mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marquez looking to control and managing it successfully. Marquez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Vulicevic has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Vulicevic!
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marquez is on top in guard.
Marquez throws a big elbow that misses. Marquez won't allow Vulicevic to sweep him here. Vulicevic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marquez on the ground. Marquez wants to control from the top but Vulicevic keeps moving. Marquez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! Francisco Marquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
An inside leg kick from Marquez misses. Marquez fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Vulicevic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marquez's waist but Marquez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vulicevic off to one side. Vulicevic tries to clinch but Marquez is having none of it. Vulicevic displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Marquez. Vulicevic scores with a leg kick.
Marquez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vulicevic but Vulicevic pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. It looked like Vulicevic was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Vulicevic punishes Marquez's body with a nice straight punch. Marquez has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Vulicevic is trying hard to land a takedown here. Marquez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Marquez goes for a double leg but Vulicevic avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vulicevic continues to drive forward. Marquez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vulicevic is fending him off so far but Marquez persists. Nope, Vulicevic circles away and we're back to standing. Vulicevic feints and then cracks Marquez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Marquez down. Marquez tries for a takedown but Vulicevic sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Vulicevic throws a right and a left that Marquez avoids nicely. Vulicevic lands a high kick!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Marquez scores with a jab to the body. Marquez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vulicevic sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marquez somewhat. Vulicevic is looking for a counter combo. Marquez shoots in for a takedown but Vulicevic shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Vulicevic moves to clinch but Marquez breaks away and Marquez counters with a straight right hand. Francisco Marquez seems to be getting the better of the standup. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vulicevic tries for a takedown but Marquez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Vulicevic with a poor takedown and Marquez counters with a series of strikes. Vulicevic will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marquez feints and as Vulicevic raises his hands in defense, Marquez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Marquez wants to get up but he can't break Vulicevic's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Marquez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Marquez passes easily into side control. Nice work. Marquez controls the position. Marquez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vulicevic knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Marquez staying calm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marquez wants to stand but Vulicevic has his arm trapped. Marquez takes a little break here. Vulicevic wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Adnan Vulicevic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Francisco Marquez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! Francisco Marquez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Marquez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
