PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kum Pook (ranked 7767 p4p, 133 weight class) and Chang Yung (ranked 4211 p4p, 93 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kum Pook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chang Yung!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yung throws a right and a left that Pook avoids nicely.

Pook scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Pook seems to be looking for submissions.
Pook trying to control from half guard but Yung is working away.
Yung has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at BLACK PANTHER GYM 50$ only. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Pook is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Yung is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Yung has escaped and now he's on top!


Pook working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yung doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yung manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Yung throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pook works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Yung wants to get up but he can't break Pook's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Yung trying to control the position from guard on top but Pook is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pook wants to sweep here but Yung controlling him for the moment.

Yung works over Pook with some ground and pound from guard.
Yung stands up over Pook, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Yung throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yung distracts Pook with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Pook looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yung is one step ahead there.
Yung trying to control but Pook is working from the bottom.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pook is on top in guard.

Pook has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Pook cracks Yung with a solid left hand.
Yung controlling the position.
Yung wants to sweep here but Pook controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pook tries to free his leg and advance position but Yung is retaining full guard.

Yung wants to get back to his feet but Pook is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Yung keeping moving, preventing Pook from controlling successfully.
Pook with a flurry of punches that miss.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yung is on top in guard.

Yung content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Yung throws a big elbow that misses.
Pook avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chang Yung dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Pook looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Yung!
Yung manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Yung working the head and body with strikes.
Yung drops an elbow to the side of Pook's head.
Yung missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Pook might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Yung working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Yung lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Yung has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Yung is nestled in close to Pook, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Yung working over Pook with some ground and pound. Pook looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Pook is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Yung scores with a couple of nice shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pook keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yung looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pook with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yung thows a huge punch but Pook dodges it nicely.
Yung winds up and cracks Pook with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ground and pound from Yung.
Nice strikes from Yung there.


Pook is rocked!
Pook has hold of Yung's hands but Yung slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Oh Pook is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yung lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Pook! More strikes land and this one is all over! Yung jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chang Yung!
