Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Banks holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

As Presley looks to move away, Banks throws a big counter combo but Presley just gets out of the way.

Presley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Presley cracks a nice hook into Banks's ribs.

Presley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Banks manages to avoid it.

Banks doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Presley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Banks shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ian Banks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Presley lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Banks takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Banks has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Banks there as he acknowledges the shot.
Presley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Banks moves away.
Presley works over Banks's head and body with a nice combination.

and Presley counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Banks thinking.

Presley leaves Banks with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Banks takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Presley smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Banks closes this distance looking for a takedown but Presley circles away.
Presley now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Presley is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Banks rather than just go for the knockout.

Banks takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Presley has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Banks takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Presley fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Banks has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Elvis Presley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Presley lands a slapping body shot.
Banks takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Presley thuds a left hand into Banks's body.
Presley scores with a punch to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Ian Banks's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Presley throws a right hand that Banks ducks under and follows up with a left that Banks also avoids with ease.

Presley fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Banks looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ian Banks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Banks swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Banks takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Presley comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Banks avoids a punch combination nicely.
Banks walks into a jab.

Banks looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Presley!
I wouldn't like to be where Presley is right now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Banks is looking for a kimura but Presley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Banks to get the leverage.

Banks is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Presley sees it coming and defends easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Banks throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Presley is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Banks is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Banks has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Presley defend it? Banks steps over the head and cranks it - Presley is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Banks!
