Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Hetfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Johnson! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hetfield throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hetfield is in Johnson's guard. Johnson is wriggling around but Hetfield manages to pass to half guard.
Hetfield prevents Johnson from improving his position. Hetfield sitting and controlling from the half guard. Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson pushes Hetfield off but Hetfield dives into side control.
Johnson pushes Hetfield away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hetfield gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Hetfield controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hetfield misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Hetfield content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Hetfield has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Johnson wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Johnson is not content to let Hetfield control the position. Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hetfield wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Johnson tries to escape but Hetfield is in control.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Johnson lands a slapping body shot.
Johnson connects with a body shot. Johnson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hetfield stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Johnson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hetfield misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johnson thuds a left hand into Hetfield's body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hetfield misses the shot to the body. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hetfield.
Johnson darts in and clinches Hetfield up against the cage. Hetfield's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Bob Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson swings away with a body shot that misses
letting Hetfield counter with a right hand. Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Johnson lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Johnson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Johnson keeps control of Hetfield as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Johnson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Still in the clinch, Johnson scores with a nice short uppercut. Johnson misses with a hook to the ribs.

Hetfield is trying to break the clinch but Johnson has him pressed against the cage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Johnson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hetfield breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson has closed the distance and engaged Hetfield in a clinch.
Johnson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Johnson lands with a left to the head. Johnson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hetfield backwards. Johnson breaks the clinch.
Johnson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hetfield is rocked!
It looks like James Hetfield has been cut. Nice straight punches there by Johnson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Johnson. Oh Hetfield is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hetfield moves away from the strike by Johnson. Some wild striking there from Hetfield.
Johnson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Johnson has managed to clinch.
Hetfield wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hetfield pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jab by Johnson. Johnson throws an overhand right that drops Hetfield like a sack of potatoes! Johnson dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Johnson! An out of breath Bob Johnson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
