Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lao Shin (ranked 216 p4p, 34 weight class) and Bruno Tepes (ranked 233 p4p, 39 weight class). Shin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shaolin Chamber of Death. Bruno Tepes is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, Lao Shin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruno Tepes!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Shin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tepes's knee momentarily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Tepes. That's going to slow Shin down.

It looked like Shin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Tepes lands a nice hook to Shin's body. Shin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Tepes lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Bruno Tepes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tepes lands a jab to the head.
Tepes pivots, looking for a leg kick but Shin is out of range and Tepes settles back down.

Shin throws a shot from downtown. Tepes moves away and avoids it.
Shin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tepes.

and Shin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tepes goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bruno Tepes will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Shin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tepes.
Tepes throws out a counter right but Shin avoids it with no problem.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tepes. Shin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Shin tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Tepes connects with a right hand. Shin shakes it off.

and Shin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Shin is looking to slow Tepes down with leg kicks.
Tepes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Tepes connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Shin has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Tepes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shin was well out of range. Poor timing from Tepes.

Tepes needs to keep his hands up - Shin had a free shot at his head there.
Tepes swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Shin is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

A close second round but Bruno Tepes will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Tepes feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shin's calf.
Both fighters circling a little - Shin finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Tepes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Tepes tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Shin is able to avoid easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lao Shin.
I think Tepes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
