Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Allistar Thorn (ranked 24059 p4p, 717 weight class) and John McGillicutty (ranked 25291 p4p, 697 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying McGillicutty's choice of entrance music: Head Down. John McGillicutty told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Allistar Thorn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John McGillicutty! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thorn throws a body shot but no joy. Thorn takes a body punch but keeps moving. Thorn thows a leg kick but McGillicutty checks it and Thorn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. McGillicutty ducks down and throws a hook to the body. McGillicutty is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. McGillicutty moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Thorn - that will leave a mark!
Thorn takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Thorn misses with a wild body shot. Jab, jab by McGillicutty - just one landing. McGillicutty catches Thorn with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Thorn is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Thorn fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McGillicutty looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Oh Thorn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! An inside leg kick from McGillicutty misses. Thorn seems to have got his legs back now. Thorn connects with a jab. Allistar Thorn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McGillicutty jabs Thorn to the body, keeping him at a distance. The fighters circle momentarily. McGillicutty darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Thorn throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. McGillicutty ducks under a wild hook from Thorn. McGillicutty steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. McGillicutty lands a left and a right that send Thorn crashing to the mat, dazed. McGillicutty thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
That's one minute gone in the round. Thorn misses with a two punch combination.
Thorn misses with a looping left. Thorn plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like John McGillicutty has been cut. Thorn thows a leg kick but McGillicutty checks it and McGillicutty counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Thorn gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! McGillicutty gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Thorn is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John McGillicutty! John McGillicutty seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
