Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Tyson (ranked 842 p4p, 27 weight class) and Jimi Powell (ranked 922 p4p, 45 weight class). Tyson comes into the arena with Mary had a little lamb blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Powell's choice of entrance music: 8 Mile. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
56 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Tyson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 19 - 2, fighting out of New York, Jimi Powell! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Tyson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And Powell tries to counter it with a takedown but Tyson pushes his down on his head and steps out. Tyson moves into range and connects with a jab. Tyson throws a low kick but Powell moves out of range easily. Tyson throws a leg kick and Powell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Tyson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Powell under the eye. Powell pushes Tyson up against the cage in a clinch. Tyson lands with a light punch inside. Powell doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Tyson lands a left hand that snaps the head of Powell backwards.
Powell is rocked! Tyson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tyson misses with a punch on the inside.
Tyson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Powell has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Powell swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Powell drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tyson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tyson. Tyson throws a head punch that misses. Powell blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyson misses with a punch on the inside.
Powell goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Powell creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Tyson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Powell misses with a hook from the clinch. Tyson lands a hook that snaps the head of Powell backwards. Powell has Tyson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Powell pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Tyson tumbling to the mat - Powell dives into Tyson's guard. Powell throws a big right hand that misses. Powell postures up in Tyson's guard and throws a big left but Tyson blocks it. Powell wants to control from the top but Tyson keeps moving. Powell throwing strikes but missing. Powell looking to sit in guard and control but Tyson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powell pulls Tyson in close to prevent any damage. Tyson controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyson stopping the sweep attempt from Powell. Powell is pulling down on Tyson's head. It's preventing any offense from Tyson, at least for the moment. Powell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tyson is one step ahead there. Powell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A big right from Tyson misses. Tyson misses with a hook
and Powell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mike Tyson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Powell misses with a jab to the body
and Tyson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Powell blocks the body kick.
Powell changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Tyson slips under a jab. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Tyson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Powell has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Powell and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Tyson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Powell takes one on the button. Tyson scores with a nice head shot. Powell is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. A telegraphed right hand from Powell misses the target. Powell on the wrong end of a nice jab. Tyson misses with an uppercut. Powell saw that one coming. Powell changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Tyson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Powell moves away. Powell misses with a takedown attempt letting Tyson counter with a right hand. Powell is still on wobbly legs! Can Tyson finish him? Powell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tyson. Powell seems to have recovered his senses. Mike Tyson is winning the standup battle so far. Powell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tyson slips a jab from Powell. Tyson moves forwards but Powell connects with a nice, crisp jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Tyson throws a hook but Powell blocks it. Tyson moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromPowell.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Powell lands an overhand right. Tyson blocks a jab. Tyson feinted there with a counter leg kick. Tyson ducks right into an uppercut from Powell. An inside leg kick lands from Tyson. Tyson walks into a left hand. Nice takedown defense from Tyson. No joy for Powell on that attempt. Tyson misses with a hook. Powell ducked under it nicely. Powell swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Powell might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Powell staying out of range there. Good exchange - Tyson coming out on top. Powell throws a body shot but no joy. Powell takes the fight into the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A head punch on the inside from Powell fails to land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powell drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tyson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mike Tyson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimi Powell. Tyson is pressed up against the cage. Powell has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tyson down to the mat. Tyson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Powell misses with a hook. Tyson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Excellent takedown into side control there by Powell. Tyson sneaks out the side door and pushes Powell away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Powell has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Tyson looks to score with a jab to the body but Powell is just out of range. A little jabbing left from Powell on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Powell drives through with a takedown into Tyson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Tyson is trying to keep Powell in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Powell postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Powell trying to control but Tyson is working from the bottom. Tyson seems keen to control Powell's posture. Powell postures up in Tyson's guard and throws a big left but Tyson blocks it. Tyson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Powell. Powell stands up over Tyson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Powell postures up in Tyson's guard and throws a big left but Tyson blocks it. Jimi Powell has got the better of the ground game so far. Powell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Powell's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Tyson is rocked! Powell postures up, still in guard. A huge hammer fist lands that bounces Tyson's head off the mat! Tyson is out! He's out! Powell jumps to his feet and celebrates with his corner!
