Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Doe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Dumas! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dumas feints and as Doe raises his hands in defense, Dumas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Dumas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dumas wants to pass the guard but Doe is keeping the position. Dumas drops back looking for a leg! Doe is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Doe manages to kick Dumas off! Dumas jumps back into Doe's guard. Doe being controlled here, momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dumas drops back looking for a leg! Dumas showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Doe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dumas on the ground. Dumas's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Let's hope that Dumas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. It looks like Dumas might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Dumas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dumas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Doe is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dumas in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Doe is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
