The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kleinschmidt misses the shot to the body.

We've been informed that Melodies has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Kleinschmidt takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Melodies swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kleinschmidt counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kleinschmidt.

Melodies swings wildly with an uppercut but Kleinschmidt uses good head movement to avoid it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kleinschmidt takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Rudolf Kleinschmidt was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
