Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Lappers (ranked 5503 p4p, 555 weight class) and Matt Usk (ranked 4315 p4p, 471 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Usk pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A swing and a miss from Lappers.
Lappers lands a nice looking body shot.
Lappers drives through and clinches with Usk against the cage.
Usk is trying to push Lappers away but Lappers has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lappers lands with a light punch inside.
Lappers lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Lappers comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Lappers is working Usk over against the cage.
Lappers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lappers swings for the body but Usk moves out of range.

Lappers catches Usk with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Usk wants to clinch.
Usk takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lappers misses with a wild combination.
Usk drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Lappers defends it well.

and Lappers counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Usk!

Usk takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Usk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lappers takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lappers. Usk does a little dance to reset his feet.
Usk is looking to clinch but Lappers is avoiding it.
Usk shoots in but Lappers avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Usk counters with a two punch combo.
Lappers fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Usk sprawls well initially but Lappers persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lappers tries to stand but can't do so whilst Usk controls his leg.

Lappers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Usk on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Lappers here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chris Lappers will probably get the nod.

Well Lappers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
