Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paulski McBeth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glenn Williamson! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williamson slips a jab from McBeth. McBeth defending well as Williamson loads up on a big left hand. Decent striking displayed by Williamson there. McBeth tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Williamson lands with an uppercut that bounces McBeth off the cage and back into range. Williamson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Williamson just misses with a punch to the body.

McBeth has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Williamson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. McBeth cracks a nice hook into Williamson's ribs. Williamson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches McBeth on the side of the head. Good exchange - Williamson coming out on top. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Williamson moves away from the strike by McBeth. Williamson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. McBeth tries to land a front kick but Williamson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williamson shoots in but McBeth avoids the takedown attempt easily. McBeth gets caught flat footed, as Williamson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Williamson wants to pass the guard but McBeth is keeping the position. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Williamson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. McBeth is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williamson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McBeth swivels though and keeps the full guard. Williamson being controlled here momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williamson tries to free his leg and advance position but McBeth is retaining full guard. Williamson is still trying to improve position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Williamson won't allow McBeth to sweep him here. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Williamson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Williamson content to stall in guard here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. McBeth uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Williamson. McBeth pulls out of a head kick attempt.

McBeth moves forwards but Williamson connects with a nice, crisp jab. McBeth throws a lazy head kick and Williamson counters with a straight right hand. Williamson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Williamson is pushing down on McBeth's leg trying to pass to half guard. McBeth is fighting to maintain full guard but Williamson has managed to sneak the leg through. Williamson trying to mount his opponent but McBeth defends it. Williamson wants to take a breather but McBeth is having none of it. Williamson trying to pass the guard but McBeth defending well. McBeth wants to get back to full guard. Williamson is pressing down on McBeth's thigh, looking to free his foot. McBeth is holding on for now.

Williamson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McBeth does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Williamson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McBeth doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Williamson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williamson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McBeth does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nice straight punches there by Williamson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Williamson. McBeth tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Williamson was well out of range. Poor timing from McBeth. McBeth misses with a double jab
and Williamson counters with a nice uppercut. A big left from McBeth misses. Williamson feints and as McBeth raises his hands in defense, Williamson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Williamson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. McBeth pulls Williamson in close to prevent any damage. Williamson is looking to pass into half guard but McBeth pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now McBeth is in guard. McBeth is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. McBeth trying to control the position from guard on top but Williamson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBeth looking to pass the guard. McBeth stands and throws Williamson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Williamson is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Williamson's face as McBeth controls the position. Williamson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Williamson is not content to let McBeth control the position. McBeth taking a breather here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Williamson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Williamson is trying to control but can't.
Williamson is looking for a sweep. McBeth is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Williamson is looking to control McBeth's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Williamson avoid being mounted? Williamson looking for submissions off his back. Williamson is trying to get back to full guard.

McBeth drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Williamson connects with a jab. McBeth walks into a jab. McBeth throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Williamson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Williamson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Williamson jabbing away but nothing is landing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Williamson ducks under a wild hook from McBeth. McBeth moves out of range of the strikes. McBeth buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Glenn Williamson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Williamson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. A swing and a miss from Williamson. As Williamson tries to get set, McBeth tries to push him back and clinch up but Williamson manages to avoid the attempt. Good exchange - Williamson coming out on top. McBeth drops his hands momentarily and Williamson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. McBeth throws a head kick that misses. McBeth uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Williamson. Williamson scores with a punch to the head. Williamson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williamson looks to throw the jab but McBeth is out of range. Williamson dodges the punch combination from McBeth.
A low kick from McBeth is predictable there and Williamson counters with a right hand to the body. McBeth on the wrong end of a nice jab.
