Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scorpion Kiing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Vovchanchyn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kiing comes to the cage accompanied by Living on a Prayer. Scorpion Kiing has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scorpion Kiing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Vovchanchyn!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kiing has closed the distance and engaged Vovchanchyn in a clinch.
Kiing is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Vovchanchyn pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Kiing has picked Vovchanchyn up - he's going for a ride! Kiing dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Kiing wants to pass the guard but Vovchanchyn is defending well.
Kiing wants to stand up but Vovchanchyn has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Kiing will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kiing is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vovchanchyn defends it well.

Kiing wants to work for an arm triangle but Vovchanchyn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kiing stops Vovchanchyn from getting back to his feet.
Vovchanchyn wants to control but Kiing is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kiing is looking to take a break and control but Vovchanchyn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kiing seems to be looking for submissions.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Vovchanchyn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Vovchanchyn is pressing down on Kiing's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kiing is holding on for now.

Vovchanchyn tries to stand and escape but Kiing actually recovers to full guard.
Vovchanchyn controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Kiing looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vovchanchyn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kiing escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vovchanchyn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vovchanchyn wants to control from the top but Kiing keeps moving.

Vovchanchyn postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kiing is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vovchanchyn, into his guard.
Kiing trying to control but Vovchanchyn is working from the bottom.
Kiing stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vovchanchyn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vovchanchyn can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kiing drops back looking for a leg! Vovchanchyn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vovchanchyn manages to kick Kiing off! Kiing jumps back into Vovchanchyn's guard.
Kiing wants to control from the top but Vovchanchyn keeps moving.
Vovchanchyn can't keep his opponent in guard - Kiing advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vovchanchyn is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scorpion Kiing dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Kiing clinches up against the cage.

Kiing breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kiing throws a series of punches but Vovchanchyn avoids them all with ease.
Kiing avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vovchanchyn scores with a jab.
Kiing keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Vovchanchyn prevents Kiing from getting back to his feet.
Kiing has a closed guard, preventing Vovchanchyn from standing up.

Kiing looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Kiing bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vovchanchyn's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vovchanchyn is working an open guard so Kiing takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Kiing tries to clinch up but Vovchanchyn circles away and keeps his distance.
Kiing stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Vovchanchyn.
Vovchanchyn shoots in but no luck this time.

Kiing shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kiing was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Vovchanchyn is desperately trying to improve his position but Kiing has a good base and remains in mount.

Vovchanchyn is trying desperately to improve position.
Kiing controlling from mount.
Vovchanchyn keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Kiing is going olschool here, as he tries to force Vovchanchyn to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Vovchanchyn shrugs it off.

Kiing stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Kiing instigates a clinch.
Vovchanchyn is looking to break free of the clinch but Kiing has double underhooks.
Vovchanchyn is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Kiing content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kiing creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Vovchanchyn's defenses.

Kiing gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kiing is looking to advance position but Vovchanchyn won't allow it.
Vovchanchyn controlling the position well.

Kiing wants to work for an arm triangle but Vovchanchyn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kiing gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Vovchanchyn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kiing!
Kiing is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's time! Kiing's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Kiing manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kiing taking a breather.
Kiing throws an elbow but it misses.

Kiing jumps guard.
Kiing keeping moving, preventing Vovchanchyn from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vovchanchyn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kiing working for a triangle but Vovchanchyn defends it easily.
Vovchanchyn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kiing swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kiing lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Kiing is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vovchanchyn is controlling him.

Kiing looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Vovchanchyn looking to sit in guard and control but Kiing gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Vovchanchyn trying to control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kiing decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Kiing throws a low kick but it's checked well by Vovchanchyn.
Scorpion Kiing is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kiing will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vovchanchyn tries to clinch up
and Kiing counters with an inside leg kick.

Kiing closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vovchanchyn to the mat! Vovchanchyn manages to get full guard.
Kiing stands and throws Vovchanchyn's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Vovchanchyn is trying to control Kiing's posture but Kiing avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kiing decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Vovchanchyn throws a leg kick that is checked

and Kiing moves into the clinch.
Come on Kiing - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Kiing prevents a body shot from Vovchanchyn.

Vovchanchyn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kiing shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Vovchanchyn keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Vovchanchyn throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Kiing working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Vovchanchyn looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Kiing! Submission of the night perhaps?
