Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Assan Karim Chorr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ousmane Sene! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sene throws a hook but Chorr avoids it easily. Chorr throws a quick counter head kick but Sene was just out of range. Sene takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nice takedown defense from Sene. No joy for Chorr on that attempt. Sene throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sene has managed to clinch.
Sene is trying to trip Chorr. He has hold of a leg but Chorr is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sene persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chorr trying to control the position.
Chorr has a closed guard, preventing Sene from standing up. Sene won't allow Chorr to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sene throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chorr works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Sene controls from within his opponent's guard. Sene won't allow Chorr to get back to his feet. Chorr is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sene would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Sene controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Chorr bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Chorr with a poor takedown and Sene moves into the clinch. Chorr is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sene is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Chorr to the mat. Chorr regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Sene controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Sene trying to stand up but can't free himself from Chorr's guard. Sene must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sene slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Chorr has momentary wrist control but Sene slips an elbow through the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sene throws a big elbow that misses. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chorr is on top in guard.
Sene working for submissions but it's allowed Chorr to get to half guard.
Sene tries to roll over but Chorr keeps him under control. Sene looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Chorr thows a huge punch but Sene dodges it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sene tries to get to full guard but Chorr has control of the leg. Sene tries to kick Chorr off but Chorr keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Chorr throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sene can do anything to dispel that myth. Sene tries to roll over but Chorr keeps him under control. Sene is controlling Chorr's position as best he can from this difficult position. Chorr is trying to control. Sene wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Sene is trying is best to control the position here. Chorr missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Chorr trying to control the action but Sene is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Chorr prevents Sene from improving his position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Sene really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chorr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Nice takedown defense from Sene. No joy for Chorr on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Assan Karim Chorr. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chorr gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Sene trying to stand up but can't free himself from Chorr's guard. Chorr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chorr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Chorr moves nicely into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ousmane Sene will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Sene misses with the combination.
Chorr is looking to clinch. Chorr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sene sprawls well. Sene wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chorr gets slowly back to his feet. Chorr tries to clinch up but Sene circles away and keeps his distance. Sene wants to counter the offense by Chorr and move into the clinch position. Chorr jabs at Sene's body. Sene has closed the distance and engaged Chorr in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sene goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Chorr is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sene gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Sene gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Chorr looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ousmane Sene has got the better of the ground game so far. Sene tries to free his leg and advance position but Chorr is retaining full guard. Sene sitting in guard here, content to control. Sene has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Chorr working a defensive guard here.
Sene is looking to stand up but Chorr won't let him. Chorr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sene manages to get himself to full guard.
Chorr has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sene is proving hard to escape from. Chorr won't allow Sene to sweep him here. Sene looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Chorr passes into side control.
Sene tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sene has one of Chorr's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Sene tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sene throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Chorr tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Chorr controlling the position from side mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sene tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Chorr wants to control but Sene is keeping busy. Chorr is not going to allow Sene to sit and survive in this position. Chorr struggling to keep hold of the position.
You can see the frustration on Sene's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Sene is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chorr working for the choke. Sene is trying to stand back up. Sene trying to control the position but Chorr manages to sink in the hooks. Chorr thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Chorr trying to control momentarily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sene wants to escape the position.
Sene wants to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Assan Karim Chorr dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Chorr keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sene's efforts to push away. Sene wants to take the fight to the mat but Chorr manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Sene turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sene manages to end up in side control. Sene is looking to take a break and control but Chorr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Chorr trying to control here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chorr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sene defends well. Chorr keeping full guard, as Sene tries to pass. Sene looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Sene trying to control but Chorr is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Chorr working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sene. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sene accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sene is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Sene would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Sene shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chorr as he jumps to the side. Sene takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sene decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Chorr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sene wanted to stand there but Chorr had control of the position. Chorr working a defensive guard here.

And that's the end of the fight! Ousmane Sene comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Sene has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
