Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Borys Hund (ranked 2731 p4p, 302 weight class) and Devin Watkins (ranked 5106 p4p, 479 weight class). Watkins comes into a darkened arena with his song building. What Happened to That Boi kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borys Hund! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Devin Watkins! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hund looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Watkins is fending him off so far but Hund persists. Nope, Watkins circles away and we're back to standing. Hund on the wrong end of a nice hook. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Watkins has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Watkins goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. A telegraphed right hand from Watkins misses the target. Watkins fails with an attempt to clinch.
Watkins will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Watkins, right into the meat.
Hund fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Watkins wants to counter the offense by Hund and move into the clinch position. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hund. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Borys Hund. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice shot by Watkins. Watkins stuffs the takedown. Watkins closes the distance and clinches up with Hund, looking for a takedown. Watkins pushes Hund against the cage but Hund circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hund darts in looking for a takedown but Watkins gets double underhooks and turns Hund into the cage. A punch combination from Watkins misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hund shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hund was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Watkins is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Watkins is trying to maintain the position but Hund is very close to passing his half guard. Watkins tries to roll over but Hund keeps him under control. Hund throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Watkins to regain full guard. Watkins throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Hund advances to half guard. Hund stalling away here and it's allowed Watkins to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Hund throwing strikes but missing. Hund has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hund preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hund throwing strikes from guard but Watkins blocks nicely. Watkins lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Watkins throws a big right hand that misses. Hund is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Watkins is aware though and is defending well. Hund lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Watkins pulls Hund in close to his closed guard and prevents Hund from doing any damage or advancing position. Hund wants to control from the top but Watkins keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hund pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Watkins is keeping the position for now. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hund passes into half guard. Hund scoring with strikes to the body and head. Hund trying to control the action but Watkins is working from the bottom. Hund is looking for a kimura but Watkins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hund to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hund wants to lay and pray for a moment but Watkins keeps working. Watkins avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hund.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Watkins tries to get to full guard but Hund has control of the leg. Hund is trying to work for a kimura but Watkins is defending well.
Nice strikes from Hund there. Hund not landing any meaningful shots this time. Nice strikes from Hund there. Watkins is not content to let Hund control the position. Hund content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Watkins looking for submissions from an awkward position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Devin Watkins will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Watkins enables Hund to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Watkins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hund trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hund postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hund passes Watkins's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Hund is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Watkins manages to get to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Watkins keeping full guard, as Hund tries to pass.

Hund drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hund jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Watkins preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Borys Hund overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Watkins controls Hund momentarily but Hund frees himself. Watkins tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hund wants to control from the top but Watkins keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Watkins preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hund is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Watkins has momentary wrist control but Hund slips an elbow through the middle. Hund stopping the sweep attempt from Watkins. Hund looking to sit in guard and control but Watkins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Watkins tries to free his leg and advance position but Hund is retaining full guard. Watkins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Watkins trying to control but Hund is working from the bottom. Hund is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hund looking to hit a scissor sweep but Watkins is one step ahead there. Hund has momentary wrist control but Watkins slips an elbow through the middle. Hund looking for a sweep. Not yet Hund, not yet. Watkins wants to control from the top but Hund keeps moving. Hund is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hund had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Watkins defends it easily. Hund has momentary wrist control but Watkins slips an elbow through the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Watkins would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Watkins working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hund's head. Hund is trying to keep Watkins in close.
Hund pushes a forearm under Watkins's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Watkins is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Borys Hund! A relieved looking Borys Hund thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Devin Watkins spoke after the fight, saying 'I gotta get better. '.
