Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexey Alexandrov (ranked 1514 p4p, 185 weight class) and Guy Mourtneant (ranked 4150 p4p, 417 weight class). Alexey Alexandrov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Guy Mourtneant!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexandrov throws a right hand that misses
and Mourtneant counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mourtneant throws a head kick that misses.
Alexandrov throws a shot from downtown. Mourtneant moves away and avoids it.
Mourtneant looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alexandrov.
Mourtneant is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Alexandrov tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Mourtneant counters with a stiff right hand.
Alexandrov throws an overhand right that lands on Mourtneant's shoulder, as Mourtneant tries to avoid the shot.
Mourtneant swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Alexandrov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mourtneant's waist but Mourtneant gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alexandrov off to one side.
Mourtneant is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Alexandrov connects with a right hand. Mourtneant shakes it off.
Mourtneant rushes Alexandrov and presses him up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mourtneant goes for a takedown in the clinch but Alexandrov prevents it.

Mourtneant throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alexandrov swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Alexandrov misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mourtneant throws a counter combo.
Mourtneant shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alexandrov as he avoids it easily.
Mourtneant tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Alexandrov tests Mourtneant's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Alexandrov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mourtneant was well out of range. Poor timing from Alexandrov.
Mourtneant moves out of range as Alexandrov strikes.
Mourtneant throws a counter combo.
Alexandrov clinches up against the cage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Alexandrov lands an uppercut.
Mourtneant jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alexandrov walks away with a smile on his face. Mourtneant gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Alexey Alexandrov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guy Mourtneant.
Mourtneant scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Alexandrov doesn't seem bothered though.
Alexandrov doesn't manage to clinch there - Mourtneant circles away.
Mourtneant takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Mourtneant is rocked!
Alexandrov drives through with a takedown into Mourtneant's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Mourtneant is still in real trouble! Can Alexandrov finish him?
Mourtneant is looking to stand up but Alexandrov isn't so interested in that idea.
Alexandrov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mourtneant's head.
Mourtneant is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Alexandrov missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Alexandrov gets to his feet and stands over Mourtneant, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Mourtneant felt that one! Alexandrov unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Mourtneant from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexey Alexandrov!
