PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyaf Daeland Puno (ranked 57 p4p, 7 weight class) and Shi Fu Tu (ranked 108 p4p, 10 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Puno might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I'm a soldier - Tupac. Fu Tu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Klendathu drop. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyaf Daeland Puno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 2, fighting out of London, Shi Fu Tu!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Fu Tu.
Puno scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Tyaf Daeland Puno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Fu Tu. Those never looked like landing.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Fu Tu lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Puno has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Puno and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
We've been hearing reports that Puno has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Fu Tu is looking to land body kicks.
Fu Tu throws the left hand but Puno avoids the punch easily.
Puno uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Fu Tu lands a leg kick that knocks Puno off balance momentarily.
Fu Tu looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Fu Tu lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Fu Tu.
Puno lands a really nice looking cross but Fu Tu seems unphased.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Puno changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fu Tu tries to avoid it but Puno manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fu Tu to the ground. Fu Tu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Puno is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Puno throws a hook to the side of Fu Tu's head but Fu Tu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A lazy left from Fu Tu finds it's target.
Shi Fu Tu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Puno dives in for a single leg takedown but Fu Tu sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Fu Tu throws out a counter right but Puno avoids it with no problem.

Fu Tu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Puno throws a good cross that connects.

Puno is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fu Tu.
Fu Tu leaves Puno with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Puno loads up on a big right hand but Fu Tu slips the punch.
Fu Tu throws a jab but it's blocked by Puno.

Puno shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Fu Tu manages to escape and get back to his feet!
A swing and a miss from Fu Tu.

Puno feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Puno will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fu Tu gets to his feet - Puno follows without any prompting.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fu Tu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shi Fu Tu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fu Tu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
