Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 2, fighting out of New York, Dean Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aidan Sumerod!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sumerod looks for a takedown but Mason sprawls well.

Sumerod looking to score a takedown here. Mason is defending well but Sumerod drives through and ends up in Mason's guard.
Mason controlling the position.
Mason is trying to control the position but Sumerod postures up.
Sumerod in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sumerod throws a big right hand that misses.
Sumerod postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Mason wants to get back to his feet but Sumerod is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Sumerod missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mason utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sumerod throws a big elbow that misses.
Mason avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sumerod scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sumerod preventing the sweep.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sumerod accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mason looking for a sweep. Not yet Mason, not yet.
Mason preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sumerod missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Mason looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sumerod is one step ahead there.
Sumerod stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mason swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sumerod with a flurry of punches that miss.
Mason tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mason utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mason is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sumerod postures up in Mason's guard and throws a big left but Mason blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sumerod throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mason is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sumerod is looking to control Mason's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sumerod avoid being mounted?
Sumerod is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sumerod wants to control but Mason is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sumerod is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mason's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mason's back!
Mason trying to control the action but Sumerod just sinks the hooks in.

Sumerod looking for the choke but no joy.

Sumerod has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mason has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sumerod is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Mason is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Aidan Sumerod!
As Aidan Sumerod got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I am not sure how this fight could even be booked. There needs to be more levels in QFC fights.'.
