Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tod Rivas (ranked 25374 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earl Maxwell (ranked 5947 p4p, 558 weight class). Earl Maxwell told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell misses with a two punch combination.
Rivas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Maxwell circles away.
Rivas misses with a takedown attempt
and Maxwell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Maxwell connects with a crisp jab.
Rivas shoots in for a takedown but Maxwell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tod Rivas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maxwell digs a good body shot into Rivas's ribs.
Rivas on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Maxwell connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rivas momentarily.
A punch lands to the side of Rivas 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Maxwell lands a glancing blow to the side of Rivas's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rivas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rivas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rivas is rocked!
Rivas is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Oh Rivas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Maxwell lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Rivas is looking to close the distance but Maxwell sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Rivas crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Rivas is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
