Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ilya Yaj (ranked 853 p4p, 102 weight class) and Ryo Tanaka (ranked 2323 p4p, 271 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ilya Yaj!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryo Tanaka!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yaj closes the distance and clinches.
Yaj throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Tanakas head.
Tanaka goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Tanaka lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Tanaka is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Yaj stops a takedown attempt from Tanaka.
Tanaka is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Tanaka wants the takedown. Yaj is fighting it off but Tanaka persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Yaj's guard against the cage.
Tanaka engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Tanaka is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Yaj keeping moving, preventing Tanaka from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tanaka showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Tanaka won't allow Yaj to sweep him here.
Tanaka wants to control from the top but Yaj keeps moving.
Tanaka with a flurry of punches that miss.
Tanaka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tanaka advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tanaka is working to tighten his grip on Yaj's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Yaj has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Tanaka is really squeezing tight and eventually Yaj passes out! Tanaka breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ryo Tanaka!
