Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Knock Out! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Rogers! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Out misses with a looping right. Out throws a big shot that misses. Rogers ducks under a wild hook from Out. Rogers shoots in but Out avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rogers uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Out. Rogers with the counter takedown but Out avoids it easily. Out throws a hook but Rogers blocks it. Rogers moves away from the strike by Out. Rogers moves out of range as Out strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Out scores with a jab to the body. Out with a body punch. A glancing blow. Rogers looks winded! Out defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rogers. Rogers ducks under a wild hook from Out. Out misses with a straight right. Rogers is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Knock Out seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Out throws a looping overhand right but Rogers ducks down to avoid it. Out misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Rogers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Out won't be happy with that. Out knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rogers on the ground. Out holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Out is looking for a sweep. Rogers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Out, who protects the arm well. Rogers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rogers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Rogers working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Out knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Out tries to bench press Rogers off him but Rogers keeps the position. Rogers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Out has escaped the position, nice work there. Rogers has hold of Out's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Out seems comfortable defending it but Rogers has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Out is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Out is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Rogers couldn't care less - he's delighted!
