Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Franklin (ranked 4256 p4p, 461 weight class) and Amirkhan Adaev (ranked 3448 p4p, 385 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Franklin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Amirkhan Adaev! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franklin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Adaev tries to land a sweep but no joy. Adaev preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Adaev wants to stand and escape but Franklin is having none of it. Adaev looking for a sweep. Not yet Adaev, not yet. Franklin trying to control but Adaev is working from the bottom. Franklin drops back looking for a leg! Adaev is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Adaev manages to kick Franklin off! Franklin jumps back into Adaev's guard. Adaev is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Franklin drops back looking for a leg! Adaev is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Adaev manages to kick Franklin off! Franklin jumps back into Adaev's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adaev is looking to stand back up but Franklin counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Adaev. Franklin prevents Adaev from improving his position. Adaev is still trying to improve position. Adaev is trying to control but can't.
Franklin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adaev keeps working. Franklin is controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Franklin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Adaev has managed to free his arm - good work. Franklin works his way into full mount! Franklin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Franklin wants to control the pace but Adaev is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franklin with a couple of short strikes. Franklin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Adaev is looking to escape. Franklin manages to capitalize on a mistake by Adaev to take his back! Franklin is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Adaev is defending well though. Franklin let's go of the attempt for now. Franklin has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Adaev is in real trouble here. Franklin gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Adaev is tapping out! Franklin wins by rear naked choke!
