Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mickey Crane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pticung Lee! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crane forces Lee back against the cage and clinches. Lee pulls guard effortlessly. Crane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lee looking to control.
Lee wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Crane stands up over Lee, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Crane scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Lee is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crane looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crane tries to roll over but Lee keeps him under control. Crane with the active half guard here but Lee passes nicely into side control. Crane manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee is defending against the submission attempts here by Crane.

Crane trying to work for an americana but Lee has managed to regain full guard.
Lee working for a triangle but Crane defends it easily.
Crane is working Lee over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Crane accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Crane throws a big right hand that misses. Crane with a flurry of punches that miss. Crane working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lee throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Crane is in close to Lee's body, working some short punches and elbows. Crane stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Lee throws up his legs and catches Crane in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Crane tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Lee! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Pticung Lee!
