Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Flannery (ranked 3292 p4p, 293 weight class) and Jer Bear (ranked 3548 p4p, 317 weight class). Flannery's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Dropkick Murphys - I'm Shipping Up To Boston. Bear is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Good Times. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

23 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jer Bear! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flannery looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bear! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. An elbow from Flannery crashes against the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bear is looking to regain half guard here but Flannery keeps moving and retains side control. Bear can't do much from the bottom here. Flannery tries to score with some ground and pound. Bear controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The fight moves into the clinch position. Bear escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Bear. No joy for Flannery on that attempt. Bear shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Flannery manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Flannery scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Jer Bear seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Flannery walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Flannery fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bear feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Flannery's calf. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bear connects with a body shot. Bear closes the distance and pushes Flannery back into the cage. Bear breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Flannery tries to sprawl but Bear drives through with a takedown into half guard. Bear landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bear connects with a nice short shot to Flannery's temple. Bear not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bear seems to be working for a kimura but Flannery defends the submission attempt. Flannery manages to escape and get back to his feet! Flannery takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Desmond Flannery is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bear moves into the clinch successfully.

That has opened up Jer Bear's cut even more. Bear has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bear blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Flannery fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desmond Flannery. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bear rushes Flannery and presses him up against the cage. Bear leaning against his opponent.

A little jabbing left from Bear on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Bear connects with a looping right hand.
Flannery shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Flannery. Bear seems to be stalking Flannery here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastating head kick! Flannery drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
