Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brent Barber (ranked 5934 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Valek (ranked 5933 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brent Barber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vincent Valek! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valek closes the distance and clinches. Valek breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Valek darts in and clinches Barber up against the cage. Valek is trying to trip Barber. He has hold of a leg but Barber is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Valek persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Barber keeping moving, preventing Valek from controlling successfully. Barber looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valek is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valek trying to control but Barber is working from the bottom. Barber is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Barber will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valek is trying to control but can't.
Barber is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Barber content to control rather than advance. Barber is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Valek trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Valek wants to hold on but Barber pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Valek really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Barber misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Barber controlling from the full mount. Barber is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Barber has managed to clinch.
Valek lands a shot to the body. Valek pulls guard effortlessly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valek seems keen to control Barber's posture. Barber scoring with some ground and pound. Barber won't allow Valek to sweep him here. Valek throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Barber stands up and waves to Valek to follow him. Valek looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Barber has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Valek has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valek breaks the clinch.
Valek closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Barber quickly recovers to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Barber won't allow Valek to pass to mount. Barber manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Valek keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Valek has clasped his hands together around Barber's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Barber looks to move to half guard but instead Valek has passed into mount! Damn! Valek tries to control but Barber wriggling away. Barber tries to hold on but Valek postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brent Barber will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Barber shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Barber was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Barber working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Valek is trying to control Barber's posture but Barber avoids it. Valek is looking to reverse the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valek wants to get back to his feet but Barber drags him back down. Barber stands up and beckons Valek to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valek on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Valek dodges the punch combination from Barber.
Valek drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Brent Barber overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Valek is standing up over Barber. Barber looks to escape but Valek dives into side control.
Valek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barber keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valek advances to full mount. Valek controlling his opponent. Barber sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Valek tries to pass the half guard into mount. Barber knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Valek seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barber does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valek gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Valek drives through and clinches with Barber against the cage.
Valek wants the takedown. Barber is fighting it off but Valek persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Barber's guard against the cage. Barber wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Valek manages to pass to side control. Barber is trying to stand.
Barber is staying active underneath Valek, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valek prevents Barber from improving his position. Valek winds up and cracks Barber with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Barber is looking to control Valek's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barber avoid being mounted? Valek stops Barber from getting back to his feet.
Valek is working for a kimura but Barber is defending it quite comfortably.
Barber tries to roll over but Valek keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vincent Valek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Barber avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Barber is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Valek. Valek closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Barber to the mat! Barber manages to get full guard. Valek wants to control from the top but Barber keeps moving. Barber looking for a sweep. Not yet Barber, not yet. Valek controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Barber is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Valek is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barber is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Barber looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valek is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barber keeping moving, preventing Valek from controlling successfully. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Valek drives through with a takedown into Barber's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Valek preventing the sweep. Barber wants to stand and escape but Valek is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valek avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Valek has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Barber is proving hard to escape from. Barber has his foot on Valek's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Valek works his way back into a safe position though. Barber working for submissions but it's allowed Valek to get to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Valek connects with a nice short shot to Barber's temple.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valek working the head and body with strikes.
Barber is rocked! Valek lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Barber! More strikes land and this one is all over! Valek jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vincent Valek!
