Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damien Sepultra (ranked 1744 p4p, 271 weight class) and Dunning Kruger (ranked 2924 p4p, 411 weight class). Dunning Kruger told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Damien Sepultra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dunning Kruger!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sepultra's waist but Sepultra gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kruger off to one side.
Sepultra appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Sepultra throws a body shot but no joy.
Sepultra on the wrong end of a nice hook.
It looks like Damien Sepultra has been cut.
Kruger throws a jab but it's blocked by Sepultra.
Kruger takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
It looks like Dunning Kruger has been cut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kruger jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sepultra walks away with a smile on his face. Kruger gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Damien Sepultra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dunning Kruger.
Sepultra looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Sepultra counters with a nice body shot.
Sepultra's corner calls for a 1-2. Sepultra obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Kruger scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Kruger counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kruger wants to control from the top but Sepultra keeps moving.

Sepultra has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Kruger passes Sepultra's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Sepultra counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kruger tries to close the distance and clinch but Sepultra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
An inside leg kick lands from Sepultra.
Sepultra throws a hook but Kruger avoids it easily.
Kruger feints the counter takedown.
Kruger takes one on the button.

Sepultra leaves Kruger with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And Sepultra counters with a quick kick to the body but Kruger blocks it.

Kruger gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sepultra.
Sepultra tries to land a front kick but Kruger steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kruger takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kruger works Sepultra's body with a nice hook.
Kruger throws a hook to the side of Sepultra's head but Sepultra sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kruger throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Sepultra counter with a right hand.
That has opened up Dunning Kruger's cut even more.
Sepultra takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sepultra displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kruger.

Sepultra was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Kruger tries to clinch up.
Kruger moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jab, jab by Sepultra - just one landing.
Kruger might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Sepultra swings for the body but Kruger moves out of range.
Kruger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sepultra moves away.
Sepultra with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Kruger swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sepultra shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kruger eats them both and turns towards Sepultra to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Kruger takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kruger is rocked!
The cut above Dunning Kruger's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kruger wants to stay close but Sepultra steps back to make room for something. Kruger seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Sepultra and Kruger drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Damien Sepultra!
After winning the bout, Damien Sepultra thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
