Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Guerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patryck Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Guerra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patryck Mendes! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendes throws a wild body kick that Guerra sees coming a mile off. Mendes looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Guerra looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mendes is fending him off so far but Guerra persists. Nope, Mendes circles away and we're back to standing. Guerra has managed to clinch.
Guerra decides to pull guard. Guerra has Mendes pulled in close to control his posture. Guerra is trying to keep Mendes in close.
Mendes trying to control the position from guard on top but Guerra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Guerra utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Guerra looking for a sweep. Not yet Guerra, not yet. Guerra wants to get back to his feet but Mendes is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mendes trying to control but Guerra is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guerra wants to sweep here but Mendes controlling him for the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Guerra shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mendes as he avoids it easily. Mendes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Guerra counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Guerra has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mendes is trying to keep an underhook but Guerra manages to get the takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guerra controlling the action here. Guerra seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mendes for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendes tries to kick Guerra off but Guerra keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Guerra looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Guerra is looking to take a break and control but Mendes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Guerra prevents Mendes from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guerra content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Guerra wants to pass the guard but Mendes is defending well. Guerra perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Guerra's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Lucas Guerra just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Guerra shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mendes as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Guerra. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Guerra throws a head kick but Mendes moves out of range.
Guerra tries for a takedown but Mendes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Guerra wants to clinch. Mendes with a lazy takedown attempt and Guerra counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Guerra seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Guerra is looking to take a break and control but Mendes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Guerra prevents Mendes from improving his position. Guerra is tying to control. Mendes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lucas Guerra dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Mendes tries to close the distance and clinch but Guerra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mendes looks to clinch and Guerra counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mendes won't be happy with that. Guerra is working Mendes over with some ground and pound from side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Guerra wants to control but Mendes is keeping him busy. Guerra controls the position. Mendes tries to bench press Guerra off him but Guerra keeps the position. Guerra tries to advance to mount but can't. Mendes keeps Guerra under control for a moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes taking punishment in the form of punches.
Guerra advances to mount. Guerra avoids the attempt from Mendes to control. Guerra lands a heavy elbow. Guerra is landing with some decent strikes but Mendes is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Guerra content just to control the position here. Mendes is desperately trying to improve his position but Guerra has a good base and remains in mount. Guerra can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mendes is looking to escape. Mendes is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Guerra tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendes is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Guerra content just to control the position here. Mendes is in a horrible position here. Guerra smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Guerra wants to control the pace but Mendes is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A nice elbow there by Guerra. Guerra tries to control but Mendes wriggling away. Guerra is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mendes has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Guerra goes for an armbar but Mendes turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Mendes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lucas Guerra dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Mendes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mendes stops Guerra from getting back to his feet.
Guerra makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Guerra tries to close the distance and clinch but Mendes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lucas Guerra is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Guerra shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Mendes is in trouble now - Guerra has advanced to mount! Mendes working to try and regain half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guerra controlling from mount. Guerra connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Guerra can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mendes is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mendes wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Mendes trying to control the action but Guerra just sinks the hooks in. Guerra tightening his grip on Mendes, looking for the choke. Guerra is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guerra is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Mendes up.
Guerra gets his hands free as Mendes looks to control. Patryck Mendes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Guerra gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Mendes rolls, trying to escape but Guerra keeps control of the position.
Mendes preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Guerra. Guerra is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Mendes. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Guerra gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Lucas Guerra overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Guerra trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Mendes doesn't escape. Guerra punishes Mendes with strikes from the back mount. Guerra slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Mendes wants to control his opponent's hands but Guerra gets his hands free. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mendes's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Guerra's hands. Guerra lands an elbow to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Lucas Guerra showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Guerra, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
