Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Edwards (ranked 5054 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Kain (ranked 4454 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ethan Edwards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Samuel Kain! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kain shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Edwards sprawls well. Edwards wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kain gets slowly back to his feet. Kain is trying hard to land a takedown here. Edwards sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Edwards drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kain throws Edwards to one side and escapes! Kain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Edwards is defended easily by Kain. Edwards darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Edwards working Kain over with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kain has hold of Edwards's hands but Edwards slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Edwards is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Edwards is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Kain wants to get back to his feet.
Edwards seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kain does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Kain is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Edwards scores with a couple of nice shots. Edwards lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Edwards knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kain on the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kain is adopting a defensive guard. Kain lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Kain missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Edwards tries to land a sweep but no joy. Edwards might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Edwards wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kain is now in half guard. Edwards is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kain wants to take a breather but Edwards is having none of it. Kain is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Edwards wants to control but Kain is keeping busy.
Kain slips a nice elbow through Edwards's hands, connecting with Edwards's forehead. Edwards tries to get to full guard but Kain has control of the leg. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kain trying to control from half guard but Edwards is working away. Edwards is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ethan Edwards will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Edwards changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kain looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kain explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Kain blocks a head kick by Edwards.
Kain tries for a takedown but Edwards circles away easily and Edwards decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kain's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kain controlling Edwards's posture. Edwards lands a couple of elbows. Kain can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Edwards controls the pace. Edwards lands a couple of elbows. Edwards postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Edwards throwing strikes from guard but Kain blocks nicely. Kain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kain tries a head kick but it misses.

Edwards fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kain, pushing him back against the cage. Edwards tries to pull guard but Kain forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's four minutes gone in the round. Edwards has control of Kain's left arm, preventing Kain from doing any damage. Kain sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Edwards's guard. Kain missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kain not doing much here.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ethan Edwards will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Edwards is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Edwards looks to land a strike but Kain avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Kain doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Not particularly brutal. Edwards trying to control but Kain is working from the bottom. Edwards preventing the sweep. Edwards with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kain looking for a sweep. Not yet Kain, not yet. Edwards works over Kain with some ground and pound from guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Edwards's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Kain pushes Edwards off and scrambles back to his feet.
Kain changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Edwards tries to avoid it but Kain manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Edwards to the ground. Edwards escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kain takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kain throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Edwards was covering up waiting for the punch and Kain finishes the takedown easily into guard. Edwards is looking to stand back up but Kain counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Edwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Edwards tries to roll over but Kain keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kain is looking to take a break and control but Edwards is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Edwards trying to control from the bottom.
Kain is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Edwards is just riding it out for now. Kain eventually gives up the hold. Edwards tries to roll over but Kain keeps him under control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Edwards has a hand on Kain's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Kain takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ethan Edwards. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Edwards, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
