Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Filipe (ranked 5876 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Skipworth (ranked 6048 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Filipe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Skipworth! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Filipe shoots in and gets a takedown into Skipworth's guard. Skipworth is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Filipe dives into side control.
Filipe decides to stand back up. Filipe steps back and let's Skipworth get back to his feet. Filipe scores with a jab. Filipe fails with a takedown attempt. Skipworth tries to close the distance and clinch up but Filipe swats him away and circles back towards the center. Filipe throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Skipworth. Filipe scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Filipe drives through with a takedown into guard. Skipworth wants to get back to his feet but Filipe passes into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Filipe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Skipworth trying to control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Filipe passes into side control, despite Skipworth's attempt to control the position.
Filipe stands up. Skipworth fails with the takedown and Filipe holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Filipe prevents the takedown attempt.

Fernando Filipe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Skipworth.

Skipworth can't find room to land a body shot as Filipe controls the action.
Filipe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Filipe darts in and clinches Skipworth up against the cage. Skipworth being controlled against the cage. Skipworth is trying to break the clinch but Filipe is controlling him. Skipworth jumps guard but Filipe turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Filipe is working for takedown but Skipworth is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Filipe successfully pulls guard.
Filipe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Filipe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Skipworth doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Skipworth manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Filipe trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Filipe throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Filipe seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernando Filipe dominated that round. That's time! Filipe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Filipe goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Filipe dives in for a single leg takedown but Skipworth sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Filipe moves into the clinch. Filipe tightens his grip and picks Skipworth up, before dumping him to the ground. Skipworth manages to land in guard. Filipe stands and steps away. Skipworth gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Skipworth misses with a takedown and Filipe moves into the clinch. Filipe jumps guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Filipe engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Fernando Filipe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Filipe works a leg free and moves into half guard. Filipe decides to stand up. Filipe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Skipworth tries to avoid it but Filipe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Skipworth to the ground. Skipworth escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Filipe rushes Skipworth and presses him up against the cage. Filipe drags the fight down to the ground.
Filipe wants to sweep but no luck. Filipe pulls Skipworth in close to his closed guard and prevents Skipworth from doing any damage or advancing position. Filipe has his foot on Skipworth's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Skipworth works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Filipe is on top in guard.
Skipworth being controlled here, momentarily. Filipe pushes down on Skipworth's leg and manages to get into half guard. Filipe trying to control the pace. Filipe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Skipworth can do to turn this around? Filipe throwing shots but Skipworth is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Filipe is controlling the pace.
Skipworth is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Filipe scores with a couple of nice shots. Filipe moves nicely into side control. Filipe remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Filipe decides to stand back up. Filipe steps back and let's Skipworth get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Filipe moves into the clinch successfully.
Filipe works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Filipe gets to his feet - Skipworth follows without any prompting. Filipe closes the distance and clinches. Filipe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Filipe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Skipworth sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Filipe somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Filipe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Filipe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernando Filipe dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Skipworth tries for a takedown but Filipe circles away easily and Filipe moves into the clinch. Filipe will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Skipworth up against the cage. Skipworth is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Filipe is trying to trip Skipworth. He has hold of a leg but Skipworth is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Filipe persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Skipworth throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Filipe escapes and throws Skipworth's legs to the side, diving into side control! Filipe has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Filipe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Skipworth swivels and escapes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Filipe lands a nice leg kick that just misses Skipworth's sensitive parts. Filipe scores with a leg kick.
Skipworth looks to throw the jab but Filipe is out of range. Oooooh!!! Filipe has knocked Skipworth down with a huge combo! Filipe steps away and waves a wobbly Skipworth back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Skipworth is rocked! Filipe shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Skipworth is on queer street and Filipe is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
