7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jakamo Jones! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yakisoba has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yakisoba was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones. Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Good work. Yakisoba has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though. Jones looking to pass the guard. Jones trying to stand up but can't free himself from Yakisoba's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Yakisoba looking for a sweep. Not yet Yakisoba, not yet. Jones trying to control but Yakisoba is working from the bottom. Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Yakisoba's head. Jones is fighting to break Yakisoba's control of his arms but Yakisoba is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Yakisoba is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yakisoba not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Yakisoba counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Jones moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Jones throws a series of punches but Yakisoba moves out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Masahura Yakisoba. I think Yakisoba has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
