Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Assan Karim Chorr (ranked 4837 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juliano Esquivel (ranked 3212 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Assan Karim Chorr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Juliano Esquivel! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chorr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Esquivel paws at him with a jab and circles away. Esquivel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chorr ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Esquivel gets a clinch. Esquivel jumps guard but Chorr stands there with Esquivel around his waist. Esquivel gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Chorr creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Chorr looking to stall.
Esquivel gets control of Chorr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Esquivel will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Esquivel is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Chorr throwing strikes from guard but Esquivel blocks nicely. Esquivel is trying to keep Chorr in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Esquivel is pulling down on Chorr's head. It's preventing any offense from Chorr, at least for the moment. Chorr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Chorr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Chorr trying to control but Esquivel is working from the bottom. Esquivel tries to land a sweep but no joy. Chorr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Esquivel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Esquivel instigates a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Chorr tries to circle away but Esquivel has him pinned against the cage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Esquivel. Chorr tries to break the clinch but Esquivel is controlling the position. Chorr jumps guard but Esquivel turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Esquivel breaks the clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Chorr as Esquivel shoots in. Chorr blocks a head kick by Esquivel.
The fight moves into the clinch position. The referee calls for Esquivel to work.
A head punch on the inside from Chorr fails to land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Esquivel is looking to break free of the clinch but Chorr has double underhooks. Chorr stalls. Esquivel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Esquivel appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Esquivel misses with a low kick as Chorr jumps back. Esquivel rushes Chorr and presses him up against the cage. Esquivel decides to pull guard. Esquivel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Esquivel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Chorr drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Esquivel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chorr has Esquivel in his guard. Esquivel trying to control the position from guard on top but Chorr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chorr is trying to control the position but Esquivel postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chorr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Esquivel defends well. Chorr can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Esquivel controls the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chorr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Chorr fails in his attempt to clinch. Chorr gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Esquivel counters with a nice uppercut. A looping hook to the body misses from Esquivel. Chorr does a little dance to reset his feet. Chorr tries to clinch but Esquivel moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chorr fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Assan Karim Chorr. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chorr closes this distance looking for a takedown but Esquivel circles away. Esquivel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chorr as he avoids it easily. Esquivel fails to land the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chorr shoots in for a takedown but Esquivel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Chorr throws a head kick that half lands.
Esquivel takes the fight into the clinch. Chorr tries to pull guard but Esquivel forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Chorr fails to pull guard.
Esquivel lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Chorr is defending against the submission attempts here by Esquivel.
Esquivel tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Esquivel seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Chorr is in trouble now - Esquivel has advanced to mount! Chorr tries to lock up and control but Esquivel gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Esquivel controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chorr is in a horrible position here. Esquivel smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Chorr is looking to get to half guard. Esquivel controlling from the full mount. Esquivel trying to control but he's not successful this time. Chorr is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Esquivel prevents Chorr from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Esquivel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chorr tries to get back to half guard but can't. Chorr tries to control the position but Esquivel now has his back.
Esquivel wants to control but Chorr manages to buck him off and is now in Esquivel's guard! Nice work there by Chorr! Esquivel looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Chorr is defending well. Esquivel quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Chorr has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Esquivel celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
