Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maeda closes the distance and pushes Jedrzejczyk back into the cage.

Jedrzejczyk prevents a body shot from Maeda.

Maeda is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jedrzejczyk is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Maeda to the mat. Maeda regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maeda is looking for a triangle here but Jedrzejczyk uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Jedrzejczyk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maeda keeps working.
Jedrzejczyk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maeda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jedrzejczyk is keen to just control but Maeda is a slippery customer.

Jedrzejczyk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Maeda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Maeda has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Maeda wants to control but Jedrzejczyk is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jedrzejczyk is trying to control the action in half guard but Maeda is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Maeda is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jedrzejczyk's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jedrzejczyk's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
