Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bidon Van Roosmalen (ranked 3222 p4p, 142 weight class) and Disco Kid (ranked 2766 p4p, 121 weight class). Disco Kid has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bidon Van Roosmalen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Disco Kid!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Roosmalen misses with a wild combination.
Van Roosmalen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Grind Time [ *Double Elite Coaches] in the buildup to the fight.
Van Roosmalen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kid tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Van Roosmalen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Kid shoots in looking for a takedown. Van Roosmalen tries to sprawl out of it but Kid keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Van Roosmalen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Kid counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kid thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kid lands a decent elbow from side control.

Van Roosmalen is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kid asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Van Roosmalen takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

The referee asks Kid politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kid prefers to stall for the moment though.

Kid looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Kid wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Van Roosmalen, who protects the arm well.

Kid is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Van Roosmalen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Disco Kid dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Van Roosmalen connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Bidon Van Roosmalen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kid jabs Van Roosmalen right on the nose. Van Roosmalen blinks but takes it well.

Kid feints the counter takedown.
Kid closes the distance and clinches up with Van Roosmalen, looking for a takedown. Kid pushes Van Roosmalen against the cage but Van Roosmalen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kid has a takedown stuffed.
Bidon Van Roosmalen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Disco Kid.
Van Roosmalen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kid tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Van Roosmalen defends well and Kid ends up having to push Van Roosmalen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Van Roosmalen moves away from the strike by Kid.
Van Roosmalen throws a body kick, spinning off balance

so Kid counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kid missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kid forces his way into half guard.
Kid keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Disco Kid has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kid seems to be looking for submissions.
Van Roosmalen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kid on the ground.

Kid is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Van Roosmalen is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
