Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Rage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Buzz Williams! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rage scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Rage cracks Williams with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Rage with a jab.
Williams is rocked! Rage lands with a nice body punch. Williams is still on wobbly legs! Can Rage finish him? Rage fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. A left lands for Rage. Williams closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rage did well to prevent Williams getting side control. Williams seems to have recovered his senses. This has been an exciting period of action! Rage keeping control of the position. Williams misses with a head shot. Rage uses the momentum to regain guard. Williams throwing strikes from guard but Rage blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rage is trying to keep Williams in close.

Rage knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground. Rage trying to control the position.
Williams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rage keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Williams throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rage stuns Williams with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Rage throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Rage throws a series of punches but Williams avoids them all with ease. And Williams tries to counter it with a takedown but Rage pushes his down on his head and steps out. Williams throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rage tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Williams is in Rage's guard. Williams throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rage works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Williams with a nice head shot there. Williams has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rage seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Rage trying to keep a closed guard but Williams is proving a slippery customer.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Williams working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rage tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rage takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Rage tests Williams's chin there with a solid looking shot. Nice straight punches there by Rage. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rage.
It looks like Buzz Williams has been cut. Rage misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rage will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Rage lands with a good body shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rage just misses with a punch to the body.
Williams with a lazy takedown attempt and Rage counters with a left to the body. Sloppy strikes from Rage. Those never looked like landing. And Williams tries to counter it with a takedown but Rage pushes his down on his head and steps out. Rage connects with the punch. Rage throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Williams stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Oooooh!!! Rage has knocked Williams down with a huge combo! Rage steps away and waves a wobbly Williams back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Rage is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Williams walks straight into a right hand from Rage - that's dropped him! Rage jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Williams from any more punishment! Williams complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
