Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerrold Melton (ranked 7822 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben West (ranked 7807 p4p, 0 weight class). West has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from West misses.
Ben West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
West looks winded!
Melton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. West sprawls well initially but Melton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Melton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down West for as long as he can get away with.
Melton is thwarting West's attempts to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

West trying to remain calm as Melton controls from the top position.
Melton is working to tighten his grip on West's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. West has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Melton is really squeezing tight and eventually West passes out! Melton breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
