PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Logan Kain (ranked 4469 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pikachu Masta (ranked 25024 p4p, 0 weight class). Pikachu Masta told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Logan Kain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pikachu Masta!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masta drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kain regains half guard there - taking advantage of Masta's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Kain pushes Masta off and gets back to his feet.
Masta closes the distance and pushes Kain back into the cage.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Kain has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Masta is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Masta misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Masta wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Masta jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kain walks away with a smile on his face. Masta gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Masta doesn't manage to clinch there - Kain circles away.
And Kain counters with a quick kick to the body but Masta blocks it.
Masta tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kain swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kain tries to counter with a takedown but Masta is quick to defend against it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kain shoots in looking for a takedown but Masta manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kain's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kain is breathing heavily.
Masta fails with an attempt to clinch.
Masta tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kain swivels and escapes.
Masta defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kain.
Masta unleashes a big counter combination but Kain bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Logan Kain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Masta tries to clinch up but Kain circles away and keeps his distance.
Masta darts in looking for a takedown but Kain gets double underhooks and turns Masta into the cage.
It looked like Kain was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Masta shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Masta was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Masta tries to advance to mount but Kain denies him.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kain is trying to control Masta's posture but Masta avoids it.
Masta blocks the strikes from Kain.
Sloppy strikes there by Masta.
Kain is trying to control Masta's posture but Masta avoids it.
Masta sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kain is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Masta wants to control but Kain is keeping him busy.
Masta throws a strike aimed at the side of Kain's head but Kain avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Masta wants to stand but Kain is controlling his arm.
Masta wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kain keeps working.
Kain is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Masta tries to clinch but Kain moves out of range.
Kain has his takedown stuffed
and Masta moves into the clinch.
Kain looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Masta tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Masta misses with a punch on the inside.
Kain breaks from the clinch.
Masta throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kain was covering up waiting for the punch and Masta finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kain is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Masta throwing strikes from guard but Kain blocks nicely.
Kain keeping moving, preventing Masta from controlling successfully.
Masta throws an elbow that misses. Kain uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Masta's guard. Nice move by Kain!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kain drops back looking for a leg! Masta is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Masta manages to kick Kain off! Kain jumps back into Masta's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Logan Kain will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Masta is fending him off so far but Kain persists. Nope, Masta circles away and we're back to standing.
Kain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masta as he avoids it easily.
Masta fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kain avoids it really well and circles away.
Kain shoots in looking for a takedown. Masta tries to sprawl out of it but Kain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Masta manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Masta changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Logan Kain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Masta misses with an attempted mid kick.
Masta shoots for a double leg takedown but Kain sprawls well. He's pushed Masta's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Masta fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Masta gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kain to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Logan Kain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Masta throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Masta is trying to control the position but Kain postures up.
Masta looking for a sweep. Not yet Masta, not yet.

Masta can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kain controls the pace.
Masta looking for subs off his back but Kain has passed one foot through into half guard.
Masta is trying to control Kain's posture. Kain takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Masta! Kain is rotating here... this could be the end... Masta is out! Kain has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
