Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chrys Kyle (ranked 1807 p4p, 188 weight class) and James Krause (ranked 1574 p4p, 169 weight class). Krause has chosen Heart of a Champion as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chrys Kyle!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, James Krause!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krause has a takedown stuffed.
Krause tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kyle swivels and escapes.
Kyle is looking for a counter combo.

Kyle has Krause up against the cage in a clinch.
Krause tries to score a body lock takedown but Kyle shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Chrys Kyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Krause.
Kyle misses with a punch on the inside.

Krause has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kyle uses from the top position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kyle lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Krause is working for takedown but Kyle is calmly controlling the position for now.

Kyle misses with the head strike.

Krause changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kyle fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Krause is defended easily by Kyle.

Kyle drives through and clinches with Krause against the cage.

Krause is trying to trip Kyle. He has hold of a leg but Kyle is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Krause persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Kyle wants to stand up but Krause is controlling him.

Krause shoots in but no luck this time.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kyle lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Krause has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Krause and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Krause misses with a takedown attempt - Kyle sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Krause looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Krause throws an overhand right that lands on Kyle's shoulder, as Kyle tries to avoid the shot.

Krause drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kyle defends it well.

Krause has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kyle is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

and Krause counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kyle wants to get back to his feet.
Krause throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Kyle kicks Krause off and gets back to his feet.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Krause gets tackled into the cage by Kyle. Kyle maintains the clinch.
Krause has Kyle pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kyle manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kyle has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Krause is on him like a limpet, forcing Kyle back against the cage.

Kyle fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Krause, pushing him back against the cage.

Krause has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kyle clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

After winning the bout, Chrys Kyle thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
James Krause was interviewed post fight and said 'I want a rematch. I'll beat him in the next one, just as I did with everyone who was lucky enough to beat me in Highland Games.'.
