PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Head Coach (ranked 2766 p4p, 298 weight class) and Kamerun Diaz (ranked 4552 p4p, 437 weight class). Diaz comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Beast in Black - Ghost in the Rain kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Kamerun Diaz will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kamerun Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz shoots for a takedown but Coach saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Diaz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Diaz takes one on the button.
Diaz fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Coach slips under a jab from Diaz.
We've been told by Coach's head coaches at Damage Inc. that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Coach throws a leg kick but Diaz sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Coach as he jumps to the side.
Diaz swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Diaz scores with a jab to the head.
Diaz goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Coach fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Kamerun Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coach wants to clinch up but Diaz keeps it at a distance.
Diaz takes a swing at Coach's ribcage but misses.

Coach closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Coach manages to avoid it.

Coach's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Diaz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Coach scrambles back to his feet.

Diaz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Coach has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Diaz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Coach looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Coach looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Coach!

Diaz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Coach wants to control but Diaz is keeping him busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Diaz tries to bench press Coach off him but Coach keeps the position.
Diaz sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kamerun Diaz dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Diaz is trying to drag Coach to the mat but Coach just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Diaz jumps guard and drags Coach to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Our spies down at at Gangsterdamage inform us that Diaz has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Coach is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Diaz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Coach is aware though and is defending well.
Diaz wants to improve his position but instead Coach has moved into half guard.

Kamerun Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Coach takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Diaz jabbing away but nothing is landing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diaz scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Diaz lands with a good body shot.
Diaz clobbers Coach with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Coach throws a low kick but Diaz moves out of range easily.
Coach walks into a straight right hand from Diaz.
Diaz's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Diaz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Coach.
Coach misses the shot to the body.
Coach looks to score with a jab to the body but Diaz is just out of range.
Diaz tests Coach's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Diaz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Diaz scores with a jab. Coach acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Kamerun Diaz was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
