The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belyakov throws a right and a left that Nunes avoids nicely.
Nunes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nunes shoots for a double leg takedown but Belyakov sprawls well. He's pushed Nunes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Belyakov stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Nunes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nunes throws a series of strikes that have Belyakov backpedaling.
Nunes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Belyakov as he avoids it easily.
Nunes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Belyakov circles away.
Belyakov lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Belyakov is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Nunes flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Nunes is out cold! Belyakov holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
