Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Alojzy Kowal! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Derek Rogan! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogan with a poor takedown and Kowal connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rogan blocks a jab. Rogan shoots in looking for a takedown but Kowal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rogan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Kowal feints a jab promting Rogan to slip. Kowal then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rogan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Derek Rogan has been cut. Rogan dives in and grabs Kowal's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kowal pushes down on Rogan's head and hops out. Alojzy Kowal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek Rogan. Horrible takedown attempt by Rogan or perhaps it was just good defense by Kowal, which made it look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big right from Kowal misses. Rogan is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Rogan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowal misses with a body shot.
Rogan dives in for a single leg takedown but Kowal sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Nice sprawl there from Kowal as Rogan shoots in. Kowal misses with the combination.
Rogan shoots in and drives through. Kowal sprawls well. Rogan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kowal. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rogan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogan takes one to the chin there. Rogan ducks under a wild hook from Kowal. Rogan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Rogan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kowal avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowal misses the jab. Rogan shoots in for a double leg but Kowal sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kowal bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Rogan's head. Kowal connects with a single shot there. Rogan with a lazy takedown attempt letting Kowal counter with a right hand. Kowal is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rogan. Rogan fails with a takedown attempt. Derek Rogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rogan. It looked like Kowal was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Rogan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kowal manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Rogan scoring with punches to the head and body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rogan pushing down on Kowal's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Rogan has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Kowal defend it? Rogan steps over the head and cranks it - Kowal is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rogan!

Our winner, Derek Rogan, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
