Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Shields (ranked 24731 p4p, 713 weight class) and Dennis Keller (ranked 7706 p4p, 639 weight class). Keller is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Redneck. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Shields! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dennis Keller! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shields shoots in looking for a takedown. Keller tries to sprawl out of it but Shields keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Keller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Keller is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shields sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Keller pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shields takes a swing at Keller's ribcage but misses. Keller looks like he wants to counter punch here. Keller misses with a wild body shot. Shields wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Keller misses with a series of wild punches.
Keller throws a right and a left that Shields avoids nicely. Keller shoots for a takedown but Shields saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shields wants to slow Keller down by chopping away at his legs. Keller throws a leg kick but Shields moved away. Some bone on bone action there as Shields checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Shields throws the kick towards the body but Keller avoids it. Keller stuffs the takedown attempt from Shields. Shields gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Keller tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Keller displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shields. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Shields. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shields closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Keller tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Shields takes a knee to the side of the body. Keller wants a takedown.
Keller looks winded! Shields is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Keller pulls him back up using the underhooks. Shields wants to break the clinch but can't.
Shields wants to stall.

Keller wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Keller is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Shields is trying to pull guard but Keller has him pressed against the cage. Keller putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Shields in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Shields jumps guard but Keller turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Shields tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Keller smiles and moves away.
Shields dives in for a single leg takedown but Keller sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Keller moves into the clinch. Keller escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Keller dives in and grabs Shields's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shields pushes down on Keller's head and hops out. Shields changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. No luck with that takedown attempt from Shields. Keller clinches with his opponent.
Keller is pushing Shields up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Keller unloads a knee to the mid-section. Keller scores a nice knee to the body.
Keller is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shields is defending well for now. Keller putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Shields in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Shields fails to pull guard.
We've been informed that Keller has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Keller tries to land a knee to the head but Shields blocks with his arms.
Shields on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Shields is trying to break free. Shields has had enough of the clinch but Keller keeps him there for the moment. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Keller as Shields tries to tie him up. Shields is looking for a takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shields is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Shields tries to pull guard but Keller forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Keller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Shields shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Keller as he jumps to the side. Keller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shields.
Keller looks for the body kick but Shields saw that one coming. Shields moves into range and clinches up with Keller. Keller manages to break the clinch.
Shields throws a head kick but Keller moves out of range.
No luck for Shields with that takedown attempt. Keller closes the distance and clinches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shields decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Dennis Keller seems to be getting the better of the standup. Shields moves into range and clinches up with Keller. Keller prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Shields. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shields keeps control of Keller as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Keller is trying to pull guard but Shields turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Dennis Keller seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Shields avoiding damage as Keller throws knees to the body.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Shields wants to control from the top but Keller keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Keller is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Keller has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Shields works a leg free and moves into half guard. Shields is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Shields is looking to take a break and control but Keller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ground and pound from Shields. Shields is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Keller is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
