Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bernardo De Barros (ranked 1110 p4p, 135 weight class) and Evan Page (ranked 1376 p4p, 166 weight class). Evan Page will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bernardo De Barros! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evan Page! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Chris Dean and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Page stuffs the takedown. Bernardo De Barros seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Barros fails with the takedown and Page counters with a lovely shot to the body. De Barros dives in for a single leg takedown but Page sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bernardo De Barros. That's going to take a lot out of him. De Barros tries for a takedown but Page circles away easily and Page counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Page leaves De Barros with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Page let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. De Barros with a poor takedown and Page counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De Barros misses with a takedown attempt and Page counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. De Barros tries to clinch but fails miserably and Page counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A telegraphed takedown attempt from De Barros is defended easily by Page. Page has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Page clinches up with De Barros and pushes him back against the cage. Page softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. De Barros ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. De Barros no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. De Barros has his foot on Page's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Page works his way back into a safe position though. Page trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Page content to stall in guard here. De Barros had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Page defends it easily. Page trying to control but De Barros is working from the bottom. De Barros has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Page can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Page trying to control but De Barros is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Barros pushes a forearm under Page's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Page is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
