The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scanlan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Scanlan looks to throw the jab but Ismail is out of range.
Ismail fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Scanlan avoids it really well and circles away.
Scanlan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ismail momentarily.

It looks like Khalid Ismail has been cut.
Scanlan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Scanlan wants it to stay on the feet.
Ismail misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ismail closes the distance and clinches up with Scanlan, looking for a takedown. Ismail pushes Scanlan against the cage but Scanlan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Scanlan cracks Ismail with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Scanlan has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ismail to stand back up!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ismail seems to have recovered his senses.

Scanlan lands a big right hand that sends Ismail crashing to the mat! Scanlan stays standing though and waves Ismail back to his feet!

Ismail dives in and grabs Scanlan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Scanlan pushes down on Ismail's head and hops out.

That has opened up Khalid Ismail's cut even more.
Scanlan is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
