Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Amilton Mello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor McCarther (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Amilton Mello! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Trevor McCarther! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mello shoots in looking for a takedown. McCarther tries to sprawl out of it but Mello keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McCarther manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mello throws a head kick that misses. Mello gets caught flat footed, as McCarther shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. McCarther trying to control the position from guard on top but Mello is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mello is looking to stand up but McCarther isn't so interested in that idea. McCarther is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Mello will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCarther stays in close to Mello's body and controls the position. McCarther trying to control the position from guard on top but Mello is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McCarther must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mello escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McCarther gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. McCarther advances position into side control! Mello wants to control but McCarther postures up.

Despite being in the dominant position, Trevor McCarther just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McCarther avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

McCarther is looking to take a break and control but Mello is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mello fails with the takedown and McCarther counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mello's guard now. Trevor McCarther has got the better of the ground game so far. Mello is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. McCarther is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Trevor McCarther showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McCarther in particular looking to stall. The fighters are battling for position here. Mello manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

And that's the end of the fight! Trevor McCarther comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well McCarther has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
